It has a roof that forms a peak with a triangular gable of wall above the window beneath. Continue shingling in this manner by overlapping the next shingle until you reach the valley. Because of the right angle they form any bracket that is symmetrical equal on both sides can be used as decoration. Raise the pitch of a roof from flat or low slope to something steeper for aesthetic and practical reasons.

The 12 12 roof pitch is also known as a square pitch roof since a 90 degree angle is formed at the peak of such roofs. The top of the roof dormer is shingled across the ridge line. Raise the roof to create more cubic feet of space beneath it. Shed dormers often blur the line between a dormer and simply being a second story.
